For many years, Alice Park has taken the most beautiful photographs of our family. She has a way with children and can capture their true spirit. We cannot say enough good things about her work and her character.
Alice has created gorgeous Folios books, slideshows, unique cards and calendars for us in the past. So many of our friends have hired her after seeing her work. She is one of the best child photographers around. People in New York City have even flown her in to capture their children.
When we started our venture into the blogging world, Alice and her husband, Kyu were incredibly supportive. They introduced us to Pinterest, other fabulous websites, and a designer for a logo. They are a wealth of knowledge and have been a great resource for us.
After seeing the sites she forwarded, we knew we needed some professional photographs of our family in the kitchen. We were lucky she was able to fit us into her busy schedule and are in love with the images. My husband has been photographing the food for our site and was in awe at the clean and crisp photographs Alice took of us. She makes it look so effortless.
Alice is always looking for ways to continue refining her art and looking to help others in the process. She saw the need for parents to connect with reputable child photographers in their city and Kyu had the vision to create the National Association of Professional Child Photographers, NAPCP. This association educates parents on what to expect from a professional photographer and gives recommendations on how to plan for the photo session. Not only is this site informative but the photos are unique and inspiring. You will love viewing all the newborn images, especially the picture of the baby laying on a feather blanket.
While writing this, I was reminded of a conversation I overhead today about life and children which has stayed with me. A lady was telling some people she changed when she lost her son. She changed her friends, her life, everything. When you experience a loss or injury, you reassess what is truly important. Sometimes it is very hard to find what you really need but you know who your true friends are when that time comes.
Maybe that is why I am so selective when it comes to friends. I look for someone who will be there when I need them and not because they need something from me first to better their contacts or career. True respect, sincerity, and kindness are so rare to find in an individual. Alice and Kyu are two people with those qualities. They are the kind of friends you keep for a lifetime.
We want to say a special thank you to Alice and Kyu for their encouragement, advice, and support. They have been so kind to us and we are so lucky to have them as friends. We look forward to many more dinners together. I will make sure to serve your favorite dessert, rum cake!
