Back To Organic – Perrine’s Wine Shop

Tucked in the new White Provisions development on the Westside is an Old World style wine store with a sophisticated modern edge, Perrine’s Wine Shop. The first time I entered her shop a gentleman came in and mentioned how he read about Perrine being one of the Atlanta’s top sommeliers. Since I was searching for someone who will take the time to get to know their customers and preferences, I came back and spoke to Perrine about my interest in biodynamic and low sulfite wines.

She recommended attending their wine tasting luncheon featuring Bergstrom wines because they practice biodynamic methods in Willamette Valley, Oregon. My husband and I signed up and thoroughly enjoyed our afternoon sampling five vintages and nibbling on food from JCT Kitchen.

We returned the following week to purchase some more wines. Perrine’s worldly knowledge of wine regions, how they raise the grapes, the chemicals they use on the grapes, and their certifications was extremely impressive. She did not try to sell us wines we could not afford which I greatly appreciated.

Perrine knows who practices organic and biodynamic methods but is not certified. These wines are less than the certified vineyards because they do not spend the thousands of dollars obtaining certification. We love these wines! We feel so much better after drinking them; no more headaches the next day.

Perrine has graciously agreed to pair several wines with the recipes on our website. We are thrilled to have someone with her expertise giving pairings; she has worked in some of the top restaurants worldwide. Serving the perfect pairing for a dinner party will now be effortless. Food always tastes better with the right wine.

If you have not visited Perrine’s Wine Shop, I highly recommend doing so. Plan a girls or couples night out and go to a wine tasting. You will love the quaint atmosphere and hearing Perrine discuss the various wines. It is our favorite wine shop!
