Triple Cream Cheese Cake with Seasonal Berries and Oatmeal Streusel by HH Desserts

Do you have a sweet tooth? After several years of late night cravings, I learned to keep some dark or milk chocolate with salted almonds in the house to temporarily satisfy my sweet tooth until I can make or find a truly delicious dessert. I am not talking about one of those cupcakes with tons of icing where your stomach aches after taking a bite. Those are so easy to find. I am talking about a dessert made with real cream, butter, chocolate and fruit that melts in your mouth and makes you smile inside and out. One you do not feel an ounce of guilt eating because every bite was worth it.

In Europe, it seems every corner has a small, family-owned  cafe where the food is made with so much love and pride. Do you know of any cafes or bakeries near you where you can talk to the chef and ask how it was made or if it has eggs? Well, now there is a place in Atlanta that is open to the public on certain days!!! HH Desserts in Midtown near Atlantic Station at 500 Bishop Street, Suite F-4.

Not only are the desserts simply divine, but chef Heather is so sweet and passionate about her art. She studied in France, Spain and New York before moving to Atlanta and wants to share her authentic French and Spanish style pastries, pies and cakes with everyone. You may have seen her on the Food Network decorating those elaborate cakes or seen one of her personalized wedding cakes, but now you can actually taste one of her desserts.

We picked up a Citron Passion Fruit Tart with toasted strawberry meringue, a Triple Cream Cheese Cake, and several Eclairs with dark chocolate cremeux, passion fruit glee and candied rose petals for Valentine’s Day to share but they did not last long. Our almost 3 old son started screaming because he did not want to share his Triple Cream Cake with fresh berries. The cream was as light as air. It was amazing. Maybe one day she will share her secret.

We promised our daughter we would get another one and this weekend Heather is making several cakes, including her Triple Cream Cake with Organic Blueberry Compote. She also has a Burnt Almond Torte with Amaretto, Diplomate Cream, Candied Almonds, a Dark Chocolate Mousse Cake with Raspberries and Passion Fruit, and German Chocolate Cake. Below is the “Let Them Eat Cake” menu and how to order from Heather at HH Desserts. It will make your Sunday so much better! Enjoy your weekend.
