My father created a board to be able to communicate when he lost his speech. The board has rows and columns with different sections for letters and numbers. We would point to a row and he would blink if the letter or number was on that row. Then we would go across the row to each column until we hit the right letter. At that point, we would write down the letter to start spelling out the sentence because sometimes we would forget a letter since it took a long time. It was very frustrating for both parties. I have been told I have little patience so I was not the best at using the board. I wish I had been more patient looking back after all these years.

If this board will help you or someone else, feel free to print a copy. We ask you make a small donation to the ALS Society in my father’s name, Danny Kaye Corbett. Thank you.
